This Black History Month, Chicago Women in Philanthropy honors the leadership, creativity, and impact of Black communities—especially the women and gender-expansive people whose contributions continue to shape our sector and our city. At a time when Black history is being erased and DEI efforts are being rolled back across the country, acknowledging these truths and celebrating this excellence is more important than ever. CWIP remains committed to advancing racial equity, lifting up Black voices in philanthropy, and challenging structures that limit access, opportunity, and recognition. We invite our community to join us in honoring Black history not just this month, but through sustained action across our sector.
