learn about cwip
Chicago Women in Philanthropy is governed by a Board of Directors with diverse representation from both the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. We meet bi-monthly to discuss operations, events, and membership, and oversee an active committee structure that includes groups dedicated to Membership, Programs & Capacity Building, Communications, the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Program, GIRLS (Girls Igniting Real Leadership and Service), the Annual Luncheon, and Nominations.

We’re always looking for committed, thoughtful professionals to join our team. If you’re interested in being considered for board nomination or nominating someone else, please click here to view the board position description and, during the nomination period, access the nomination form.

MEET

Austin Shipman

Up next in our CWIP in Focus series, we feature Austin Shipman (she/her), a new CWIP member engaged in the Women’s Leadership and Mentoring Program (WLMP) and the Membership Committee. Austin grew up in a small farming community in Washington State. During high school, she participated in an exchange program in Buenos Aires and fell in love with large cities. Her time in Argentina sparked a lifelong interest in studying how city residents interact and function—independently and together.
