Recap: Members' Only BeMoved Virtual Class

June 30, 2021

Of all the Zoom events we've participated in the last year, last Thursday's Virtual BeMoved class was one of the best. Hosted by the CWIP Membership Committee, this session was a fantastic way to share a fun experience with CWIP peers and break a sweat!

BeMoved was founded by Sherry Zunker, a dancer and previously the Artistic Director of River North Dance Chicago, who believes that dance has a transformative power that enriches a person's wellbeing above and beyond the well-known physical fitness benefits. Her previous work with Bob Fosse and Ann Reinking was clearly demonstrated in the nineteen choreographed moves taught. Designed for people over 40 years old, BeMoved inspires participants to embrace dance as a lifelong path to health, joy, and fulfillment.

Our Instructor was Jennifer Edgcomb, an engaging woman who led us through 60 minutes of nonstop dance moves to the music of Motown and the Backstreet Boys. She taught us choreographed moves worthy of any Broadway musical, and we all felt like backup dancers in Jersey Boys. It was a unique and wonderful experience. Special recognition to the Common Pantry Commodores, a trio whose grapevine and jazz hands put the rest of us to shame.
