|How to Update your CWIP Profile|
CWIP's Membership Directory is an exclusive benefit for CWIP members. You have full control of your information through the member profile, and since CWIP is new to the Your Membership system, we wanted to ensure all of our members got the chance to see how the profile portal works, so we created this 'How to' guide for updating your profile.
Anytime you'd like to update your profile, register for an event, or connect with other CWIP membership via the social features on the CWIP website, you're going to need to sign in to your account. If you've never updated your username, typically it will be the e-mail you used to sign up for your CWIP membership. If you don't remember your password, and the recovery e-mail isn't going to the e-mail you thought you had on file, it's possible you have an old e-mail on file. If this is the case, contact the CWIP Administrator to check which e-mail you have on file through the back end, and have it changed if it's an old e-mail or one you don't regularly use.
Managing your Information:
Once you've logged in, you'll land on a page that says Manage Profile at the top. This is where you can go to update the information in your Membership Directory listing. To do so, click on the Edit Bio icon outlined below in orange and simply fill out the field boxes with your information. You can also change and update information here as you change companies or emails. The Preferences icon, circled in pink, is used to adjust your alert settings. For example, if you'd like to be alerted each time a new event is added to the CWIP Calendar, you can opt-in to receive those e-mails via the Preferences icon.
You will also use the Edit Bio section of your Profile to adjust your privacy settings. When you're entering your information, there is a icon next to applicable profile fields. These are the fields you can chose to redact from the membership directory. When you click the icon, it will give you the option to show the field only to signed-in members, or to hide it entirely.
Please Note: Hiding an item from your profile will only hide it from the membership directory listing. Administrators will still have access to this information.
In addition to your basic profile information, there are also options to take your CWIP Membership Directory listing to the next level. Your Membership allows CWIP members to interact and treat their profiles as a professional network much like LinkedIn. Each member is given the option to upload a head shot, post on their own wall, and include a resumé and a CV.
When you click on Profile Home, you will be brought to a page that looks like the one below. To upload a head shot, click on the 'Photo Not Available' icon circled below in orange. This will give you a smaller icon, which will allow you to upload a photo. Clicking the icon will take you to a page that looks like the lower picture, then all you need to do is drag a photo in or click to find your head shot on your computer, and it will automatically upload to your profile!
Please note: This profile works like a social media page, you can go into Preferences to choose what shows up on your wall and what does not. You can post directly to this feed, but it will also automatically populate with things you've done on the site, like register for events.
After uploading a head shot, adding a resumé or CV will likely be your next step. To do so, click on the Create Resumé/CV option as shown above in the My Profile menu circled in pink. This will bring you to a page with a form that will allowing you to create a resumé or CV. Once you've filled out the form, make sure to check the option circled in orange (this is the end of the form).
Click submit, and you will automatically be taken to a page where you will be able to upload your resumé or CV as a PDF which is shown below:
Please Note: The keywords in your resumé/CV file will not be searchable, it is important that you fill out the form so that your resumé/CV can be found in the search features of the website.
