Chicago Women In Philanthropy

 FOUNDED IN 1981
CWIP is a nonprofit membership organization of nearly 300 staff and trustees of Chicago-area foundations, corporate giving programs, nonprofit organizations, and interested individuals.

An advocate promoting programs and influencing issues facing women and girls, CWIP creates public dialogue through relationship building, education and research.

CWIP is governed by a Board of Directors with diverse representation from both the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. We operate through an active committee structure that includes Membership, Program, Communications, Special Initiative, and Technical Assistance, and our newest committee, Fund Development.

Our mission is to increase funding to organizations serving women and girls
